Innovative training for Supply Management
Professional Development and Certification
NAPM Silicon Valley enables individuals and corporations to manage their own supply management training processes by custom tailoring programs to their specific needs. Each of these programs have been created, edited and published by practitioners with many years of experience both in their respective fields and as professional educators. Professional Certification provides our assurance that the student has obtained the most current available materials and successfully met the requirements established by the program’s operating Board of Advisors.
Through Supply Knowledge tm individuals and organizations can access learning programs that award certificates in Supply Management and assure basic levels of competence in selected tracks. Currently, there are three tracks (see inset) available leading to Certificate awards:
- Supply Management Operations
While geared to an advanced level of performance, this curriculum covers the basic elements of day to day supply management operations and planning, including sourcing strategies, production planning and execution, materials management, tools and systems and asset control.
- Procurement and Contract Management
This program leverages best practices and world class performance to enable management level understanding of the strategic role procurement holds in the profit chain. Courses include Strategic Sourcing and Supplier Qualification, Price Analysis, Financial Analysis, Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and Legal Aspects of Procurement, Request for Proposal (RFP) Preparation and Analysis, Contract Formation, Contract Management, Negotiations Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Procurement Systems and Tools.
- eSourcing
Adds an in-depth curriculum designed to supplement the basic programs outlined above, focused on contemporary areas of automation such as Electronic Sourcing, Web-based Systems and Tools, Supplier Enablement, Web Services, Standards for Commercial Applications, Enterprise Application Integration, Automated Supplier Relationship Management and an Available Systems Overview.
To earn a Certificate, students must complete all required courses from a selected program, four electives from the same program and two additional electives from any of the other programs’ courses (see inset). In addition, all programs require the Business Ethics course.
Life-long Learning
Entirely web-based, eLearning brings life-long learning to the supply management profession, providing education and information no matter where the individual works or lives. Now, the individual’s knowledge and ability can continue to grow throughout the many professional stages during a lifetime, making learning and growth an integral part of the workplace
Knowledge on Demand
With soon to be implemented features, such as topic specific webcasts companies and individuals will be able to extract the precise information needed to manage a particular situation. You will be able to find, for example, the exact language needed to establish warranty conditions for experimental equipment or baseline the typical lead time for a particular product.
